Understanding Mobile Rates
A Mobile Rate is a special discounted rate that’s only visible when someone uses our app or accesses our website using a mobile browser. You can use Mobile Rates to increase your bookings from mobile devices by up to 30%.
The majority of reservations on our platform are made using mobile devices, so offering a Mobile Rate helps you tap into this large group of potential guests. Mobile Rates can also help you target millennials, who make up over 65% of bookings on our mobile channels.
When you offer a Mobile Rate, a special badge appears next to your property in the search results, on your property page and during the booking process. We’ve found that all of this helps to improve your conversion with mobile device users. Mobile Rates are active throughout the year, and you can choose a maximum of 30 blackout dates when they don’t apply.
Mobile Rates apply to all of your rooms and Rate Plans. The Mobile Rate discount is on top of any Genius discounts you offer and any other promotions you’ve set up, except Country Rates and Limited-time Deals.

Setting your Mobile Rates
You can choose to offer any discount amount of at least 10%, but for the best results we recommend a discount of 15%. We’ll only offer this discount in our app, or both on our app and on our website in mobile browsers.
By activating Mobile Rates on both our app and mobile website, you can reach 30% more potential guests compared to on the app alone. Targeting mobile users is more important than ever, since increasing numbers of travellers use mobile devices when both thinking ahead to future trips and booking spontaneously.
Activating Mobile Rates
If you don’t already have a Mobile Rate set up, from the Opportunity Centre in the extranet you can quickly create one using our recommended settings. Or you can follow these steps to set up a custom Mobile Rate using your own choice of settings:
- Log in to the extranet
- Click on Promotions
- If you already have other promotions set up, click on Choose new promotion (you don’t need to click on this if your Mobile Rates will be your first promotion)
- Click on Add promotion next to Mobile rate
- Choose where you want your Mobile Rate to appear by selecting either App and mobile web or App only
- Enter the percentage discount you want to offer
- Choose any check-in dates when you don’t want your Mobile Rate to apply
- Click on Review and then, if everything looks right, click on Activate
If you don’t see any options to activate Mobile Rates on the Promotions page, follow these steps instead:
- Log in to the extranet
- Click on Rates & Availability or Calendar & Pricing and then click on Mobile rates
- Click on ‘Add new mobile rate’
- Choose where you want your Mobile Rate to appear by selecting either App and mobile web or App only
- Enter the percentage discount you want to offer
- Choose any check-in dates when you don’t want you Mobile Rate to apply
- Click on Review and then, if everything looks right, click on Activate
Editing or deactivating Mobile Rates
You can always update the settings of your Mobile Rates or deactivate them so that potential guests no longer see them. Here’s how to pause or edit your Mobile Rates:
- Log in to the extranet
- Click on Promotions
- Click on the three dots next to the Mobile Rate you want to edit or deactivate
- Click on Edit or Deactivate
- If you clicked on Edit, update your choice of platform, percentage discount and any dates when you don’t want your Mobile Rate to apply, and then click on Review and then on Activate
- If you clicked on Deactivate, click on Deactivate again to confirm
If you don’t see any options to edit or deactivate Mobile Rates on the Promotions page, follow these steps instead:
- Log in to the extranet
- Click on Rates & Availability or Calendar & Pricing and then click on Mobile rates
- Click on the name of the Mobile Rate you want to edit or deactivate to see its current settings
- Click on Edit or Deactivate
- If you clicked on Edit, update your choice of platform, percentage discount and any dates when you don’t want your Mobile Rate to apply, and then click on Review and then on Activate
- If you clicked on Deactivate, click on Deactivate again to confirm
