Dormitories are great for catering to different types of travellers. Offering individual beds in a shared dormitory helps attract budget travellers. At the same time, offering dormitories as private rooms can broaden their appeal to include other types of guests. You can set up both options in the extranet by following the instructions below.

How to set up individual beds in a dormitory room

  1. Log in to the extranet.
  2. Click on Property and then select Room details.
  3. Click on Create a new room.
  4. Under Room type, select Bed in Dormitory.
  5. Under Bed name, select the type of dormitory room this bed is in.
  6. Under Number of beds (of this type), add the number of this type of bed bookable in this dormitory room (check that this matches the number of available beds to avoid overbooking).
  7. Under Bed options and occupancy, indicate what type of bed this is and the maximum number of guests that can sleep in each one. We consider a standard bunk bed to be suitable for sleeping one guest – if you have wider bunk beds that sleep two guests, select Double bed from the drop-down menu.
  8. Select how many bathrooms the room has and where each one is located.
  9. Click on Continue.
