How can I set up a ‘minimum advance reservation' and ‘maximum advance reservation’? [New]

Note: Depending on your property type, this feature may not be available yet. If not, follow these instructions on how to update minimum and maximum advance reservation instead.

Sometimes, you might prefer not to get bookings too soon before a certain date – or too far in advance. To avoid those unwanted bookings, you can set a ‘minimum and/or maximum advance reservation’.

That way, you can set the earliest and/or latest points at which a guest can make a booking for a certain date. Once you’ve set this restriction, your property will only appear in search results when the guests’ search dates match your conditions.

We’ve made it very easy for you to update your restrictions. You’ll see different options below. Check which of the screenshots matches what you see in the extranet, then follow the appropriate steps.

Option 1:List view calendar

If you’re using the List view calendar follow the steps below to set up a minimum or maximum advance reservation:

  1. Log in to the extranet and click on 'Calendar' under your ‘Rates & Availability’ tab or Calendar & Pricing.
  2. Make sure you’re using the ‘List view’ option, not ‘Monthly view’ or ‘Yearly view’. You can check this on the right-hand side of the page.
  3. Next to the date selector, you’ll see a small square with ‘Restrictions’ next to it. This square is a filter. Click on it to display all your restrictions for your rooms.
  4. In the menu, look for ‘minimum or maximum advance reservation’. Then click on the box next to the restriction you’d like to select.
  5. Enter a value in the cell. The value corresponds to the amount of time before the stay date that you’d like to block any bookings for that room or unit. You can enter either days or hours. For example, if you want to make sure your room can’t be booked within 3 days of the stay date, you’d select ‘minimum advance reservation and enter ‘3D’. If you wanted that amount of time to be five hours, you’d enter ‘5H’. For three days and four hours, you’d enter ‘3D4H’.
  6. To make changes for multiple days at once, click on a cell and drag the blue circles in the corner of the cell to the left or right to cover the days you’d like to apply the restriction to. A pop-up will appear where you can add the number of days or hours. Click on ‘Save’.
  7. To set these restrictions for more than a month ahead: click on the ‘Bulk edit’ button beneath your room type or unit name. A panel will appear on the right-hand side of your screen. Select the dates you want to change your restrictions for, then click on the ‘Restrictions’ box. Choose a rate and restriction and enter the days or hours as usual in the white box below the restriction type. Click on ‘Save changes’ when you’re done.

Note: In The Monthly view calendar, you can only set up a minimum advance reservation. To set up a maximum advance reservation, please switch to list view by clicking ‘List view’ on the right-hand side of the page.

Option 2: Monthly view calendar

If you’re using the Monthly view calendar, you can only set the minimum advance reservation of stay by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to the extranet and click on 'Calendar' under your ‘Rates & Availability’ tab or Calendar & Pricing.
  2. Click on the room you would like to adjust.
  3. Click on ‘Set long date ranges’ and choose the dates you want to amend.
  4. The relevant restriction options will appear, so select which is applicable.
  5. Select ‘Save changes’ when you’re done.

Tip

To set up a maximum advance reservation, please switch to list view by clicking ‘List view’ on the right-hand side of the page.
