Setting up ‘No arrivals’ and ‘No departures’ restrictions
Restrictions offer a way to apply special conditions to the reservations you receive. If you aren’t able to check guests in or out on specific days, you can set up a No arrivals or No departures restriction to prevent guests arriving or departing on those dates.
What’s in this article
What are ‘No arrivals’ restrictions
A No arrivals restriction prevents guests from booking a stay that starts on the dates you’ve selected. Guests can still book a stay with this restriction in place if their check-in date is not on one of the restricted dates.
For example, if you set a No arrivals restriction for a room/property on 24 November:
- Guests cannot book that room/property for 24-26 November because they cannot check in on 24 November
- Guests can book that room/property for 21-26 November because they arrive on a day that doesn’t have a No arrivals restriction
Setting up ‘No arrivals’ restrictions using a list calendar view
If you’re viewing your calendar in List view, follow these steps to set up a No arrivals restriction:
- Log in to the extranet and click on either Rates & Availability or Calendar & Pricing, then click on Calendar.
- Click on the Restrictions check box next to the date selector at the top of your Calendar page or find the room that you’d like to set up the restriction for, then click on the drop-down arrow next to the room rate to see all your restrictions.
- On the No arrivals row select the date that you’d like to make unavailable for check-in. To select multiple dates, drag the blue rectangle over all the dates you want to restrict.
- Click on the Activate radio button and then on Save.
- If you’d like to set this restriction for more than a month ahead, click on Bulk edit and select the dates and week days you want to apply the changes to. Then click on the Restrictions box and select the rate and No arrivals restriction. Lastly, click on Activate and then on Save changes.

What are ‘No departures’ restrictions
A No departures restriction prevents guests from booking a stay that ends on the dates you’ve selected. Guests can still book a stay with this restriction in place, as long as their check-out date is not on one of the restricted dates.
For example, if you set a No departures restriction for a room/property on 24 November:
- Guests won’t be able to book that room/property for 21-24 November because they can’t check out on 24 November
- Guests will be able to book that room/property for 21-26 November because they check out on a day that doesn’t have a No departures restriction
