If not you won`t get the money , if it was his card and you had the guest sign in and agree to your terms , so long as you did this the bank will give you the money , but you need to have the proof he stayed . We never accept payment transfer unless it has gone into our account before the guest arrives otherwise we make them pay with credit card and refund it once the payment goes in .
So put all your proof together and send it off to the bank , if not treat it as an expensive lesson and put into place the procedures to stop it happening again
We also never give a guest a key unless they pay first.
take the money from the credit card up front , if it doesn`t go through then cancel the booking , easy
