As a followup, I probably will go back to PayPal and IBAN bank transfer
I have not had this problem yet but I just signed up for electronic payments from booking.com and even though the guests are going to stay in my house in August, they say that I will not receive my funds until end of October. So I have to incur the expenses of having this guests, who have already paid, while Booking.com gets to use my money for over three months. This sounds like a scam.
I have had the problem with guests that book my place but when I contact them there is no reply.
I have even called them from all places around the world with no success. I then end up having to call Booking.com, be on hold for hours and wait days to have the reservation removed.
I have requested to booking.com may times that they must give owners control of their own reservations. I am sure I have lost reservations because someone is sitting on my calendar as reserved and not paying.
I am relatively new to Booking.com, about a year now but am new to the forum.
I own a vacation home on the west coast of Ireland in Co. Mayo.
