Some years ago, we were invited by our local office (Nice- 35 salespersons) in order to get an overview of various departments (editing,coordination, channel..) and it was a way for partners to meet and understand better the way of functionning of this HUGEcompany !
Sometimes, you can apply the guidelines of Review Department to avoid non contractual reviews ! It is the same with TripAdvisor ...
To get bad reviews does raise also credibility uponyour listing.
Seometimes,also guests do publish reviews upon the wrong listing page !

Guests nevertheless do sometimes behave themselves on a strange way
It seems that those problems do occur when BDC takes care of the payment with the guests and adding then a commission for the job
Maybe consider charging guests directly with a vitual bank terminal ?
In fact if the reservation is due, you need to refund NO account !
5 years ago, BDC asked us to refund a non refundable Booking which was cancelled. We did proceed !
We received a extremely BAD review on TripAdvisor and the guest tried to make an opposition with his bank about the credit card he did provide. He could get a second refund.
Accomodaition is AMAZING, Booking is KING !

We always try to anticipate those siuations ! bu BDC customer service are sometimes surprising about conditions (with Airbnb, it is worse !)
They did consider to relocate and refunded the guest even if he presented a bill with an other name : a legal case !
BDC did emetted 2 diferent bills dealing that case as Relocation written upon the bill and wrote that it was not a relocation !
in fact, you can bypass Booking with a channel manager which has this capacity !
You do just need to contact BDC Accomodation Service
They are very nice and usually efficient
