Deletion of posts with no explanation.

Didem - Community Manager

Hi,

I have noticed that opening posts in Spanish language have been getting deleted. I used to reply to these but obviously now don't.

I know this is an English speaking forum, with an Italian facet, but why is the language that is spoken by the most nations simply swept away? Especially when someone is replying!

Posts in an existing thread is more understandable but to ignore your Spanish speaking partners is very poor.

Maybe time to include a Spanish speaker on the Hub team....

yeah the auto bot detects the reply and see the original was not in english so it moves it to another sub site.

I agree it stupid, especially considering all the modern translation tools built into web broswers and of course translate.google.com and browser extension plugins

Hi Fluff (new account), thank you so much for initiating this conversation. BrookAve, thank you so much for building on this topic, too. Fluff (new account), I really appreciate you mentioning that you have been replying to fellow partners to help, to those who have posted in a different language then English or Italian. You are right, currently, according to our content moderation policies, posts and comments that are posted in a different language than the specific community’s language are removed. The reason is to ensure that the Community is understandable for everyone who reads the posts and comments. I feel so sorry every time one of our partners' posts is removed. Because clearly this partner was seeking help or put the effort in sharing something with our Community. We are looking into how we can make our Communities more inclusive towards everyone. Not everybody speaks English or Italian, or can use Google Translate, and we would also like to welcome and support our partners who speak different languages, in the Community. It might take a while before we can open new communities with different languages. I just hope that for now those partners contact our Support teams to receive the help they need or use Google Translate as BrookAve has also noted to share in this Community. Best regards to both of you!

Another post deleted by some over-sensitive soul...

No idea which post or why. This is a very pointless system, at least quote the deleted post in the notification!

Hi Fluff (new account), sorry to hear that! If you remember the title or any key words, I'm happy to search for you in our system and try to find the content. This way I could check it according to company content policies and share with you the reason why something might have been unpublished. By the way, I agree with you on your suggestion that it would be very helpful to quote the deleted post in the notification and I've been checking this with our teams if there is a technical possibnility to implement that. Thank you!

@Didem - Community Manager

Here we are again, six months after you agreeing the below and another deleted post without any reference or explanation.

I agree with you on your suggestion that it would be very helpful to quote the deleted post in the notification and I've been checking this with our teams if there is a technical possibility to implement that. Thank you!

If we are not told/quoted which post how are we supposed to work out why it was not acceptable?

It seems ALL the feedback you pass on is simply ignored, just like partner enquiries and feedback in Extranet and guests on CS.

Apart from when partners can help each other directly (basically doing the BDC's partner support for them), this forum appears to be pretty useless, unfortunately. Many partners have put much work into this forum yet BDC continues to ignore, reject and sidestep every issue.

Yup .... and I consider this "community" to be a waste of our time .....

Hi @Fluff (new account) ,

I'd definitely shared your feedback then and the team had investigated it. Unfortunately, it hasn't been possible to implement that feature so far.

Instead, the email our partners receive when a post or comment is removed was improved by giving examples of common removal reasons as breach of community guidelines.

Common removal reasons include (and not limited to) the following:

  • Off-topic content
  • Personal information
  • Profanity or insults
  • Unfriendly or derogatory language
  • Language other than English or Italian
