Cancellation policies

I'm thinking of updating my cancellation policy and am interested in some feedback from other partners. What cancellation policies do partners have, and what are your reasons for choosing that policy. Does anybody offer free cancellation and how does that work for you. I am interested in Australian property owners, thank you..



i would imagine those with free cancellation are either on risk free program or get alot of footfall traffic and or direct bookings too. So a replacement booking is not a big deal for them.

  1. In the extranet, go to the ‘Inbox’ tab.
  2. Select ‘Booking.com messages’.
  3. Right Pane - Click on ‘See Contact Options’
  4. Choose Account
  5. Now choose Other
  6. Then at bottom , See all contact options, and click Message or Call
  7. As there is no one number for all partners, the number for your nearest BdC Partner Support is then revealed.

A free cancellation rate plan will always attract more bookings. You can also have a non refundable rate to run along side the flexible one so you show two rates at the same time. You'll attract both types of guests - ones that like the flexibility and pay more, and ones that prefer the non refundable as they are price sensitive and are getting a cheaper rate. If you take a look in your Analytics Tab in your extranet > Book Window. You'll see how far in advance your bookings are dropping in compared to the market. Your flexible policy should be flexible enough and in line to when bookings are dropping in for the market in Freemantle. Have you tried calling the phone number in your extranet? In the Inbox Tab > Booking.com Messages > Contact Us. There should be a phone number in there. You can call that phone number and ask for advice around your policy question as well.
