Rating System

Good day

Has anyone thought about Bookingcom's "sick" rating system? The guests can give us 6 x 10 points and still rate us with an 8. There are no more intermediate numbers, a 9.6 is no longer possible. Thus, every hotelier who has earned a 9.7 or more in years will automatically fall in small steps. For every 9, our hotel needs 4 x 10 points to make amends. The guest has no idea that he is harming us with 9 points, he thinks that he is doing something good for us. Every point under 9.7 harms us and the guest can only give 9, 8, 7 etc. It's a shame how our performance is being ruined. That the total points are only visible for 36 months is ok, but the current system is destructive. Those who developed it have never worked in a hotel or thought about the mathematical consequences. I know of hundreds of hoteliers who oppose it, but still someone at Bookingcom is proud to have developed it. What exactly do you have to do to get back to the old tried and tested system? Collect signatures?

  3. nothing is linked. its all manual by the guest. yes guests are idiots and dont do it right nor fairly.

  1. In the extranet, go to the ‘Inbox’ tab.
  2. Select ‘Booking.com messages’.
  3. Right Pane - Click on ‘See Contact Options’
  4. Choose Account
  5. Now choose Other
  6. Then at bottom , See all contact options, and click Message or Call
  7. As there is no one number for all partners, the number for your nearest BdC Partner Support is then revealed.

You are totally right, I have the same issue: all 10s and total score 8 or 9. And the total score is only that calculates in review score.

Now I have the same score of 9,4 as my neighbour. My average individual score is 9,4-9,8 and their is 8,8-9,2. This is totally unfair and makes huge damage to good apartments. Some guests won't book my apartment because if the sort list by review score. And some will be dissapointed in neighbouring apartment because they expected more.

I wrote to Booking and they answered to leave feedback in extranet. Which is as good as they didn't respond at all.

No!   Nothing I repeat ... and this is text... NOTHING IS CALCULATED. IT IS ALL MANUALLY done by the guest using their hands on a mobile screen or on their account on booking.com on a web browser, but mainly through the booking app on their smart phoine.

 

"A smart phone owner , does not make a smart user of said phone" - A wise Irishman more than once said, and  yes it was me! !

 

What is means is just because a Guest managed to instal lthe booking.com app on their smart phone does NOT make them a smart user of both the phone and the apps on it.
