I am a Secretary by profession but retired more than 25 years ago to concentrate on the running of a small construction and paving company which I own. My new focus over the past 2-1/2 years has been the cottage on my property which I run through the Booking.com and other bnb forums. I enjoy meeting new people as well as making them feel welcome and happy and exchanging experiences of our travels.
I used to provide a nice bottle of South African wine, but I found that most people are not drinkers, so it was a waste. I also find a lot more people are health conscious and appreciate the fruit basket much more. I have had a few vegans, who do not take milk, so the litre of milk I provide upon arrival, was never opened, and sometimes goes to waste too.
I prefer to give my guests whatever they need if they are on a short visit, especially when things like butter, Olive oil, etc are usually only needed in small quantities. For that, I usually give them a small quantity of Olive oil and butter if they ask for it.
No, not on the web, but there is tea, coffee, sugar and milk available on arrival, and sufficient for the next 5 x days. If they stay longer, they usually provide their own provisions.
Nice to meet you Sergei - I am so looking forward to making whatever contribution I can to the Community. There's always something to share so I will keep a keen lookout.
