Just to clarify... we had indeed activated 'Payments by booking.com'. We had no choice in doing this... all Indian businesses who were not registered for GST were migrated to this payment option on December 10 2018.
Yet they never paid us any of the money they collected from guests. And they still sent monthly commission statements for us to pay.
Again, we are not living in a wealthy western country where we can simply shrug our shoulders and say 'oh well, that's a shame'.
For us, they are withholding almost a full year worth of salary... which we depend upon during the 'off season' which is fast approaching. In this part of India, we earn 300 rupees per day for hard manual labor... Booking.com currently has more than 50,000 rupees they are withholding from us. It's a life changing amount and we have worked hard for it - now we want our money!
@Riverbarpharmsbedandbreakfast thanks for your comment and sorry to hear about your experiences with booking.com.... it's strange that such a large global company is acting like a rogue criminal organisation. Once we resolve this issue, we will no longer be allowing booking.com to touch any of our guest payments, it's too dangerous!
Hi Aaltje, nice post... and great observation. We are one such host who has not received any payments from booking.com despite more than 3 months of booking fees being withheld by booking.com.
We have our payment system and bank account set-up with booking.com... yet we have not received any payments.
Have been contacting booking.com but they have not helped in resolving the issue yet. In fact, they have barely even acknowledged our multiple emails and calls.
Funny how booking.com seems to have no problems collecting money from their hosts via commission payments... yet they have so many problems when it's THEIR turn to pay.
Expected much better from seemingly reputable company like booking.com.... this is causing us serious issues as our entire families income is tied-up in the outstanding booking.com payments... and nooone at booking.com seems to care at all.
This same thing has happened with me.... 3 months of hosting guests in a small guest house in north india and we haven't been paid at all. Now booking.com owe us over 50,000 rupees - we are dependent on this income for the rest of the year when it is impossible to have guests in this area.
Despite many messages and phone calls, we have not been able to make any progress. Feeling frustrated and completely cheated by this website. Our whole family is being badly impacted by this and booking.com not replying... or paying us!
