From BC's perspective reduce reduce reduce your prices with this discount and that until you can't afford the overheads then they will feature your property higher on lists etc... The fact commission rates are high and they should be promoting your property anyway isn't their fault, it is you as a host that needs to act and go bust!
All I cab advise is, make sure you know your overheads and minimum you can work with, check out the prices and what your local competition offer then price your establishment accordingly and maybe offer something a little different that may appeal to guests.
Totally agree in regards to the "no children" policy as could/does put people off booking an establishment and the review process, well certainly agree with the fact that if a review cannot have a reply from the host then an option to remove it should be available which I've brought up on here before and in feedback to BC but we are just hosts, we don't matter!
Hi, just choose the nearest to your needs from the list and eventually you will see "still need to contact us" or something similar at the bottom on the right.
However, don't hold your breath if sending a message as the last three times I've had to contact Customer Services (that title is a joke) I've not had one single reply. I'm still waiting for a reply to a message sent last Friday, I don't expect one as support is almost non existent for hosts!
Totally agree, when they got rid of anonymous reviews not so long back I thought they'd have done the same for these types of review too as very unfair to the hosts.
Doesn't apply to me as have min length set at 1 night but can you confirm 100% what you state is correct, ie. min length 3 nights BC have to put in one guest for those 3 nights even if that guest only wants 1 or 2 nights? Obviously that guest wouldn't book anyway if had to pay for more than needed but if you get my point! Thing is BC state ALL restrictions must be removed to fill the room(s).
What gets me is guests leave 10/10 for everything, great remarks, nothing wrong then give an overall score of between 7 - 9.
About a year ago I had guests stay, well they turned up but as I didn't have their favourite tv channel on my system they got very anti and decided not to stay the night. Upon leaving they stole my tv. Luckily and stupidly they went to another local BC property and police traced them and got my tv back. They were reported to BC yet they said if any review left they would not remove it. I had already very swiftly received a very negative review on Google so knew I would get one on BC so I marked them as a "no show" to protect myself and despite promise from BC to back me up they never came forward. Great support for hosts by BC........not!
I'm not sure but I suspect as BC state ALL restrictions have to be removed when they look for alternative guests that even if you have specific minimum stay lengths such as your 3 nights per guest/booking that BC could put a different guest in each night. My minimum is one night as get a lot of last minute bookings for workers and such like.

Yes that is what I understood too, all restrictions removed so as you say and as I've experienced.
