I have had the same problem with the last two guests. I have contacted Booking.com this morning but my previous experience with them suggests they will do nothing to help "partners", only guests!
We will be taking all payments through the Eviivo system going forwards, if this means we have to mark cards invalid, then have the discussion with the guest every time, I will be telling the guests not to use Booking in future
Anyone wonder if life would be much easier if we all just cancelled Booking all together!
