The best way it to flag the listings to booking.com. You can do this, by going directly on to the listings and clicking the little flag icon 'Report this listing' and this will go directly to a team within booking.com who will look into it further.
We've all experienced less than perfect and/or unfair reviews. I recently received a 3 because I wasn't located in town - which is clearly stated in my description. I've also recieved 'unclean' kitchen remarks and scores because I was cooking dinner when guests arrived. There is nothing you can do about the review. However your response to the review speaks to your professionalism and the type of host you are. A negative host response can deter guests from booking so keep your response factual, non-emotional and positive.
For the virtual credit cards you need to have a card machine which has feature of cardless transaction. Speak with your bank they will help you with the machine though which you can easily get the payments in case of no show or also can collect cancellation charges.
Ultimately, a cannel manager is the only way to tap into the potential of the virtually endless online booking market. A channel manager allows you to distribute the rooms that you have available across a variety of different channels, providing you with an opportunity to reach a global audience.
For a 20 room property in your area you need to first look in to following

If you are not on more then 2 or 3 OTA's then I would advice you to manage it manually and by syncing your calendars. Because its an additional cost.
However if you are present and visible on more OTA's then Staah , Ezeecentrix, Netpax, Reseliva are good option.

Yes you can offer discounts or free nights by managing it from extranet. I mostly run book 6 nights and pay for 5 nights.
For cleaning fees you can not ask for additional payments; its best you add it in your room rates.
