Richard there are more conversations about this, hundreds 99% of partners requesting to revert to the automatic average plus many good ideas to improve the system that have been disregarded so far. I can send you the links if you need to participate in them.
Have a great day
Thank you all for your input requesting a better review system. Nothing has been considered from Booking.com since Mr. *** became CEO.
In the meantime, even if in Booking.com my score is 9.8, I'm working with local agencies now here in the Swiss and French alps, actually for a better fee, a fairer relationship with clients, and because I think of all partners situations here, not just my success.
Time will tell. Thank you all for your input requesting a better review system.
Indeed Gustave, we are all blind but he can see, and that's apparently a reason to to write to the chat in a demeaning manner. Actually nothing can justify that kind of attitude, besides the fact he imposes his opinion as facts, big picture, and truth. We all have pity for this.
Booking.com hates us all. They don't pay attention. The never reply. They hire people that proved to be incompetent time and time again. They laugh at our presence and at our service. They cash high commissions through an irresponsible, unethical review system. They privilege hotel chains and step their knee on small business. They pretend to listen and care but they don't. If you want to use this platform, use it the same way they do. Treat them the same way the do. Nothing will change until some people get fired, for which we pray every morning some sort of justice will be done. Tito use the other platforms – you'll be respected and feel good at the end of the day.
Another thing we could do is start complaining on more visible platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook - if Booking.com starts getting a bad rap publicly, they will definitely pay more attention. On LinkedIN, it's possible to tag the CEO in messages, asking him to change the policy. This is his profile page: https://www.linkedin.com/in/glennfogel/
I say that in addition to this forum, we start contacting the leaders directly, emails, posts, messages. It's what I've started doing and will continue to do.
Sergei, it woud be way cooler if your participation was not to police what others are posting but to find a way to help us... Isn't that your role here? We are the ones, as hosts, with the commissions we pay, that keep booking.com alive, and so many of us have come together to explain why the new review system is not fair to us.
This fight has been for months now. There are two other posts where people express the same disappointment, and they are all active including this post. The other two posts are:
Keep posting, it will make a difference. We will all win. In the meantime, move to Airbnb and create your own Google Maps business location and your own website, because this seems to take more than humanly possible.
We've got a 7 overall score in one of our properties from guests from Ukraine, after years of scores between 9.5 and 10. The answer from the guest "We were four people and the place was too small." Actually they booked for two, in a loft for two guests only.
Without the manual overall score, we would have had 9.5. Now not only we learned from this that BDC's reputation is broken to most of us "partners" forever but also that people complain from their own lack of respect.
