More than half (55%) of global travelers plan to take slower modes of transportation to reduce their environmental impact in 2022. This number increases to 58% for Italian travelers, 63% for American travelers, 72% for Chinese travelers, and 73% for Indian travelers. 

In light of this data, Booking.com has delved into global traveler reviews* to reveal six of the world’s best cities for sustainable transport options in 2022. From guided bike tours to well-mapped public transit systems, the cities offer eco-conscious guests plenty of options for getting around sustainably. Here we reveal the cities that are set to be high on the agenda for responsible travelers – and how partners can attract them. 

Kyoto, Japan
