In a recent survey, we asked 48,413 travelers across 31 markets what booking info influenced their last property choice. Here we reveal the top-rated answers. 

Reviews from other travelers 

For most global respondents, especially those from Latin America, hearing about other guests’ experiences is the most important piece of booking info. Showcasing your property’s best features, reviews are a great source of customer feedback that can encourage new guests to book. We recently removed the option to write anonymous reviews to make sure that you can see the associated guest reservation details of any reviews you receive on our platform. 

Interestingly, respondents from Oceania and Europe ranked cancellation policy as the most important piece of booking info above reviews. 

Accommodation facilities 

The second most important piece of booking info global travelers look for is the facilities a property offers. From swimming pools and spas to fitness centers and food services, there’s no doubt that facilities play a significant role in the guest experience. This info is especially important to travelers from the US, Colombia, the UK, Denmark, and Belgium, who ranked facilities higher than respondents from other markets did.

Info about additional safety measures related to Covid-19

Without a doubt, Covid-19 has changed traveler expectations and priorities, with health and safety considerations now all the more important. Info about Covid-19 safety measures was ranked as the third most important piece of booking info among global travelers. 

Delving deeper into the data, we see that respondents from Mexico, India, China, Thailand, and Vietnam ranked safety measures as the most important piece of property info, above reviews and facilities.
