False bookings

We receive bookings from "dodgy" looking foreigners, who give a number that does not work - but if I cancel the booking then I need to find them alternate accommodation?

How do I ensure that guests need to pay a deposit when making a booking? For two weeks in a row now we have been booked - one of them a 14 day booking - that become no-shows, and nothing can get done.

I register as a no-show. But when this happens more than legitimate guests, it's worrying.

What can I do?

My advice is first to report this bookings issue to our Customer Service Team so they can look at the guests' history in our system, investigate the case and help you avoid such situations in the future.

To secure your future bookings I advise you to update your policies and start asking the guests for a prepayment deposit before the check in date. You can do that by following the steps in this article. If the guests refuse to pay you a deposit, you can contact our Customer Service Team to help you cancel the booking.
