How do I update my sustainable practices on the Extranet?

Updated 6 months ago

While travel has the power to transform lives for the better, every trip impacts the environment and local communities. At Booking.com, we’re committed to minimizing this impact as much as possible, but we can’t do this alone.

What have we done so far?

We’ve worked with experts at the non-profit, Travalyst, to identify and develop practices in the hospitality industry that can create positive change. Based on this research, we added 14 sustainable practices under the “Property” tab of the Extranet (e.g. eliminating single-use plastics, electricity-saving measures, and reducing water usage).

What can you do today?

Make sure your sustainable practices are up to date by checking “Yes” or “No” for each action.

  1. Click the Extranet’s “Property” tab and select “Sustainable practices” in the lower right corner.
  2. Select a category that’s relevant for your property and click “Update as facility.” This will take you to the “Sustainable facilities” section of the Extranet.
  3. Only check “Yes” for the measures you’re currently taking at your property.
  4. Check “No” for any measures that aren’t currently in place.
  5. Click “Save” at the bottom of the page.

Not currently implementing these sustainable practices but interested in learning more?

  1. Click the Extranet’s “Property” tab and select “Sustainable practices” in the lower right corner.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Share your feedback” button.
  3. Fill out the form, and our team will keep you updated.

Have you taken more steps than what’s currently listed on the Extranet?

That’s great – let us know which practices you’ve implemented so we can prioritize additions and grow our sustainable efforts together.

  1. Click the Extranet’s “Property” tab and select “Sustainable practices” in the lower right corner.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Share your feedback” button.
  3. Like before, fill out the form, and our team will update you when we add new practices.
