Blocking dates in your calendar
There may be times when you don’t want to receive any bookings for specific rooms or units. You can prevent these bookings by blocking dates in your calendar, either on the Extranet or the Pulse app.
How you do this depends on the type of calendar you use. If you’re not sure which one you use, take a look at the screenshots below and follow the instructions that match what you see on the Extranet or on Pulse.

Blocking dates on the Extranet
List view: Closing rooms on the Extranet
If you’re viewing the calendar in list view, here’s how to block individual dates:
- Log in to the Extranet and click either Calendar & Pricing or Rates & Availability, then Calendar
- Click the Room status of an open and bookable date that you want to block
Here’s how to block longer periods of time in list view:
- Click Bulk edit
- Select the start and end dates for the period you want to block
- Use the checkboxes to select which days of the week you want to block
- Click Room status, then Close room
- Click Save changes
Monthly view: Closing rooms on the Extranet
If you’re viewing the calendar in monthly view, here’s how to block dates:
- Log in to the Extranet and click either Calendar & Pricing or Rates & Availability, then Calendar
- Select the room or unit that you want to block from the drop-down list
- Select the dates you want to block this room or unit for, either by dragging the two three-lined icons on the calendar itself or by entering the dates into the Start date and End date fields
- Under Open or close for bookings, click Closed to block those dates
- Click on Save and the dates will turn red to confirm that they’re now blocked for bookings
To see an overview of your property’s long-term availability, switch your calendar to the yearly view. To do this, click the drop-down box that displays the name of the view you’re currently using, then click Yearly view.
Blocking dates on the Pulse app
You can also block off dates in your calendar using the Pulse app. How you do this depends on whether you use the old or new calendar.
Old calendar: Closing rooms on the Pulse app
If you’re using the old calendar, here’s how to block individual dates:
- Open the Pulse app and tap Availability
- Select the date you want to block
- Scroll down to the room or unit that you want to block, then change the room status from Open to Closed
- Tap Closed in the Room status section
Here’s how to block longer periods of time using the old calendar:
- Open the Pulse app and tap Availability
- Tap Edit multiple dates under the calendar
- Select the date range you’d like to block
- Tap Open or close rooms
- Tap Save if you’re using iOS, or the checkmark if you’re using Android
- If you have multiple properties, select the one you want to update
- Select the room or unit you want to block dates for
- Tap Close in the Room status section
- Tap Save if you’re using iOS, or the checkmark if you’re using Android
New calendar: Closing rooms on the Pulse app
If you’re using the new calendar in list view, here’s how to block individual dates:
- Open the Pulse app and tap Availability.
- Scroll down to the date you want to block and tap the toggle button next to the applicable room or unit. The status will change from Bookable to Closed.
If you’re using calendar view, here’s how to block individual dates:
- Open the Pulse app and tap Availability.
- If you have more than one property, tap the one you want to update.
- If you’re using the calendar view, tap the room or unit and date you want to block. If you’re viewing the dates in a list, scroll down to the date you want to block.
- If you’re using iOS, tap the toggle button next to the room or unit name to move it to the Closed position. If you’re using Android, tap the toggle button on the Room status row to move it to the left position.
- Tap Save if you’re using iOS, or the checkmark if you’re using Android
Here’s how to block longer periods of time using the new calendar:
- Open the Pulse app and tap Availability.
- If you have more than one property, tap the one you want to update.
- If you’re using the calendar view, tap the room or unit type you want to block. If you’re viewing the dates in a list, scroll down to the dates you want to update, then tap the room or unit type you want to block.
- Tap Edit multiple dates, then select the date range you want to block.
- Tap Open or close rooms, then Closed in the Room status section.
- Tap Save if you’re using iOS, or the checkmark if you’re using Android
