Setting up a new rate plan

A rate plan describes the combination of different factors that make up a booking. These include cancellation policies, prices, number of days between booking and check-in, length of stay, room or unit type, and meals if they’re available.

Adding the right rate plan can help establish a strong foundation for your business, helping you attract a variety of guests with different needs and preferences.

Understanding rate plans

Offering a variety of rate plans can help make your property more attractive to different types of guests, especially during times when they’re looking for more flexibility.

We offer two main types of base rate plans:

  • Fully Flexible – this rate plan offers potential bookers more freedom in case their travel plans or other circumstances change. Because guests are willing to pay a little more for extra peace of mind, Fully Flexible rates tend to be the most expensive.
  • Non-Refundable – this type of rate plan helps secure more guaranteed bookings and revenue, especially for travelers on a budget. Although Non-Refundable rates are generally lower than Fully Flexible rates, the lower rates are more compelling for travelers looking for the best value, and tend to generate more bookings.

Additional rate plans

In addition to these two base rate plans, we encourage you to explore rate plans that can help you attract particular groups. Options include Early Booker, Child Rates, and Long Stay Weekly or Monthly rate plans. Or you can create your own custom rate that fits your business needs.

Adding rate plans

You can add a new rate plan by following these steps:

  1. Log in to the Extranet
  2. Click Rates & Availability and select Rate plans
  3. Click Add new rate plan
  4. Choose the type of rate plan you want to add, then click Add rate plan
  5. On the next page, set up the details of your rate plan, then click Review
  6. Click Activate rate plan

Editing or removing rate plans

You can edit or delete a rate plan by following these steps:

  1. Log in to the Extranet
  2. Click Rates & Availability and select Rate plans
  3. Click the rate plan that you want to edit or delete, then select Edit or Delete
  4. If you selected Delete, confirm your choice by clicking Delete forever in the pop-up
  5. If you selected Edit, choose which features of the rate plan you want to update on the next page, then click Apply changes
