Note: Depending on your property type, this feature might not be available yet. If not, follow these instructions to update minimum and maximum advance reservations instead.
Sometimes you might not want to get bookings too soon before a certain date – or too far in advance. To prevent these unwanted bookings, set a “minimum and/or maximum advance reservation.”
That way, you can set the earliest and/or latest points when guests can make bookings for a certain date. Once you set this restriction, your property will only appear in search results when guests’ search dates match your conditions.
We made it easy for you to update your restrictions. You’ll see different options below. Check which of the screenshots matches what you see on the Extranet, then follow the corresponding steps.
If you’re using the List view calendar, follow these steps to set up a minimum/maximum advance reservation:
Make sure you’re using the List view option, not “Monthly view” or “Yearly view.” Double-check on the right-hand side of the page.
Next to the date selector, you’ll see a small square with Restrictions next to it. This square is a filter. Click it to display all your restrictions for your rooms.
In the menu, look for Minimum or maximum advance reservation. Then click the box next to the restriction you want to select.
Enter a number in the cell. The number represents the amount of time before a stay date that you want to block bookings for that room or unit. You can enter either days or hours. For example, if you want to block a room for 3 days before the stay date, select “minimum advance reservation” and enter “3D.” If you want that amount to be 5 hours, enter “5H.” For 3 days and 4 hours, enter “3D4H.”
To make changes for multiple days at once, click a cell and drag the blue circles in the corner of the cell to the left or right to cover the days you want to apply the restriction to. A pop-up will appear where you can add the number of days or hours. Click Save.
To set these restrictions for more than a month in advance: click the Bulk edit button under room type or unit name. A panel will appear on the right-hand side of your screen. Select the dates you want to change restrictions for, then click the Restrictions box. Select a rate and restriction, then enter the days or hours in the white box below the restriction type. Click Save changes when you’re done.
Note: In the Monthly view calendar, you can only set up a minimum advance reservation. To set up a maximum advance reservation, switch to list view by clicking “List view” on the right-hand side of the page.
If you’re using the Monthly view calendar, you can only set the minimum advance reservation of stay by following these steps:
- Log in to the Extranet and click Calendar under the Rates & Availability tab, or Calendar & Pricing.
- Click the room you want to adjust.
- Click Set long date ranges and select the dates to adjust.
- Select the applicable restrictions from the options that appear.
- Click Save changes when you’re done.
To set up a maximum advance reservation, switch to list view by clicking “List view” on the right-hand side of the page.
