Can UNFAIR reviews WAY BELOW average rating be prevented?

From time to time I get guest reviews that are totally UNFAIR and WAY BELOW my average rating. And they are usually without any explanation. I keep getting good reviews, and my rating goes well above 9, but then one person arrives and gives me very bad review for no reason, and brings my average rating down. One UNFAIR review ruins weeks and months of hard work. Is there anyway to prevent this?

Simply report to BdC Partner Support , see below 3 methods. They will never see any post on the Partner Hub.


Message or Call BdC PartnerSupport 


  1. In the extranet, go to the ‘Inbox’ tab.
  2. Select ‘Booking.com messages’.
  3. Right Pane - Click on ‘See Contact Options’
  4. Choose Account
  5. Now choose Other
  6. Then at bottom , See all contact options, and click Message or Call
  7. As there is no one number for all partners, the number for your nearest BdC Partner Support is then revealed.

I followed your instructions and found phone number, and called them. I reached Booking.com call center in Zagreb, Croatia, which is the country where I live. However person who answered my call was not willing to cooperate, and told me that guests have right to do anything they want and leave whatever review they want. She was a little bit disrespectful to me as a host and told me that we dont have any rights as hosts, and guest is always right not matter what. I was surprised to to hear this from Booking.com personal in my country.

I asked her to provide me her name and reference, and she told me only that her name is Martina, she works in call center in Zagreb, Croatia, and that is all. 

So my question is... Do we as hosts, really have no rights at all, and guest is always right no matter what? Because thats what she told me. Is that really true?

I invested my apartment and entire furniture, I invested lots of money in this business as a host, I work very hard to make all my guests feel good and happy during their stay, but I dont have any rights? Any guest can do whatever they like, but I cant get any protection and fair treatment?

Is that really true what agent Martina in call center Zagreb told me?

I would suggest either send message via inbox or use option 3 public numbers to contact a different centre.


To then ask same and see if you get different responses.
