Hide full address until a reservation is made

Hello,

Is hiding the full address an option now?
I could not find an option anywhere.

We are a private residence and do not want to show the exact address until a reservation has been made.

Regards

Hello Kika,

In some cases, we can hide a property address until a booking is confirmed. To see if this is possible for your property, please send a message in the extranet inbox and our team will confirm.

Thank you

Haley

Ya, please hide mine ASAP or I may be forced to remove my listing. I just realized it was there for all to see.... not good!

Hi Nick,

Thank you for reaching out. We are not able to hide property addresses on the front end; amongst other things, location is big basis of guest decision making.

Have a great day!

As much as I agree, it is also a big security risk for those who are renting vacation properties in which there is no one at the premises. There should be a clear and distinct policy for private property rentals vs hotels.

I will take the chances showing an approximate area vs having someone show up unannounced, just like plenty of other websites do it.

Then cancel my account. Not sure why this is so hard for you to figure out. I do not want my address broadcast in any way unless there is a paid reservation. Now if you have finally decided not to do hide my address, have the courage to cancel my account. If my house is broken into meantime, YOU will be held responsible. Understand now?

Hi Nick,

Its on you to trigger the process called ' End My Partnership'.

search for that phrase to get the steps how to.

While I agree it would be preferred to hide address its just never going to happen.

BdC wont legally be responsible either.

Hi I would like to hide exact address and send it to the guest after payment is made in advance and yet it could still mapped within 200 metres in a town area, or more in a general area in a country side location, in oder to prevent illegal trespass, burglary. Otherwise it is an advert for empty dwellings to be broken into. As a private host this is sensible, is it possible and how?

Thankyou in advance for your assistance.

I did and sadly the response was "not an option".

It is a big security risk for those who want to rent private vacation homes where no one resides. We do have property administrators but still, they do not live on-premises.

Don't take no for an answer. I am cancelling on behalf of you all. It is totally illegal for them to publicly broadcast your private address without remuneration to you FOR THAT PURPOSE and if you ask that it be removed it needs to be removed within 24 hours. It only costs $70 to file in Small Claims and you can sue for the limit for copyright infringement - usually many thousands of dollars. That's what I will do. It worked wth Yellow Pages when I cancelled my advertising with them and they kept publishing my number generating lots of nuisance calls - won $2500! Not hard to understand if you have your address out there and pictures of everything inside for any nitwit to see - THAT is a serious liability. I may also call several insurance carriers and inform them of this practice and they may cancel any and all Bookings.com related policies if they are smart. Now if I terminate my contract with Booking.com and they STILL maintain my information publicly, that is a criminal matter for the FBI, because I am old and been there done that. I am retired except for BnB and ain't no rascal gonna mess with the peaceful enjoyment of my retirement! Ignorance is no excuse. Neither is stupidity...

  1. false it is not illegal due to the nature of the service and the GDT  aka T&C.
  2. when you sign up you are agreeing to this feature, its literally that simple.
  3. even if by some miracle your local civil laws allow you to d othis and win, not every partner lives and operates where you are and so will not be so lucky.

best of luck with that and do let us know how it goes, and if successful. will be interesting to see how it ends.

1) In the U.S. it is illegal to jeopardize the safety another thru your stupid actions.

2) No one agrees to that, if embedded in small print, deceptive and ergo not enforceable.

3) You really think they need to get sued more than once to wake up? I'm sure that can be arranged...

My address is still showing. Gave you extra time. Time is up. Not even a response. Crappy customer service as well as no consideration for your clients. Great business model!

That's why I copy it into both streams and also my attorney's, doofus. What purpose are you serving here, BrookAve? I would like to know. Just throwing smoke on unsuspecting users. Hey, this platform sucks! I've tried a few and this is the worst bar none. Smoke that...

This isn't fair to the owners I just had someone come upon my property demanding to talk to the owner stating they would rather deal with the owner instead of the platform to book.  THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!!!! Do better booking.com

I totally agree, this is a serious issue for all hosts out there. We've had random people squatting our properties announced because they knew the address and when it will be empty... The full address should be only shown after the payment was confirmed with the guest.

The Booking.com website is cumbersome and overly complicated, their interface is antiquated and not at all set up for individual hosts. Now they won't even hide my specific address to protect my investment - something that is standard on other sites. At least let owners opt in an take the hit in your algorithm.

What a joke. It's no coincidence you're in third place...

I just realised today that our full address is showing, this is absolutely crazy. If other platforms can hide your address, I am sure it can't be that complicated. Booking platform is outdated and before Christ, please do something...
