See my comments about my experience. You have to call them on the phone and demand to speak to a manager, or they will just fob you off
I had a guest book with an invalid credit card. I cancelled his booking, and even though he did not even stay at my hotel - he was allowed to give a review and give us 1/10!!!! He then threatened me and harassed me via text and email. I contacted BDC to get the score removed, they refused on 5 occasions even though he didnt stay! I had to send them screen shots of his abuse and the fact I had contacted the police before (and 2 months later) they deleted the review! Unbellievable that BDC allow guests to review a hotel even if they have not stayed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn't affect your review score so why worry about this!
Don't let booking.com stress you out - they will always try to control your behaviour!
Hello Marc. I can't find anyway on the extranet to fix this. I would advise you call booking.com and speak to them personally (the chat / email service is very frustrating). Explain the issue, they may be able to adjust your settings so guests HAVE TO book with a valid credit card etc so this doesn't happen again. Personally, booking.com in my opinion always favour the guest and not the hotel, but you can always try!
I know. We have it too here at The Mill. You have to wait 24 hours before you are allowed the cancel the booking!!!! Booking.com should allow a hotel to cancel a booking IMMEDIATELY if payment details are incorrect or the guest has used and invalid credit card.
Tell then you want to capture CVV codes from guest credit cards and you want to opt out of 'payments by booking.com'. You can then take payments yourself, and booking.com will invoice you on a monthly basis for the commission. You then have DIRECT control in taking the money and it goes immediately into your bank. No more waiting for booking.com to give you YOUR money.
Booking.com dont like doing this and you will have to hassle them to do this
Oh! I have just discovered why - if you go to photos on the Extranet, they have a button saying 'SMART ORDERING' and the link says "Boost gallery views and potential bookings by allowing our machine learning technology to order your Main gallery photos. Guests will view these photos in a different order than what is shown. You can turn it off at any time"
This is clearly managed by AI (artificial intellegence) - and to be honest, it isn't very intelligent! If you like your best photos to showcase your property - check your listing now!!!!
Booking.com you should NOT be messing with our extranet settings WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION. THIS IS NOT OK AND COULD DAMAGE OUR BOOKINGS. STOP THIS NOW
