7) Forum is VERY slow refresh, comments made do not appear in the headings of "Recent" OWHY for several hours. This really stifles any conversation.
8) Both PC and mobile versions still have boxes that don't fit the screen or are incomplete, a little nit-picky granted but still detracts from usability.
Generally this new format is also far less intuitive to navigate (the mobile version is worse), having to do double or triple the work to move around, not good and I'm finding it rather unfriendly to use. If others are experiencing the same as me it would explain the huge downturn in activity here.
Point 1 now fixed, thank you.
As much as I agree with Katerinka12 comments, the point has been missed.
Isle of Wight Vacations rightly complained that, as an established and known partner to BDC, a new property having passed the verification stages OF THE SAME OWNER should not enjoy the same earned status as far as payment is concerned. (I have assumed for this comment that all contact details and financial information is identical, if not then as you were!).
If you mean reducing your commission back to 15% (assuming that is the base commission in your country) then you need to request being taken off the Preferred Partner Programme.
I've only been doing this three years but I don't remember BDC having an actual adjustable percentage directly (other sites yes). It's all done via programmes, campaigns and boosters.....AFAIK....
Just to add....
5) receiving 2 email notifications for every non-mine post in a thread that I have posted in.
6) Is this the only forum in the universe without a basic set of emoticons, these are very useful to clarify the intention of the written post.
Very easy in fact.
"Match your chosen rate" is the setting you require. If your normal rate e.g. 2 days minimum stay in June but 7 days in July & August, then the promo will follow the same setting.
It also allows you choose a different min. stay if you wish, except for joining a BDC campaign where it always matches your standard min. stay.
Are you sure your email is required for login?
For most people it's your BDC account number and then your password.
Firstly hello and welcome.
I'm amazed by the reactions from hotels you've stayed at, good grief!
I value comments from other hoteliers more highly than any other, I have implemented several points that have been made and been very thankful for them. Some comments have not been appropriate to us but still gratefully received. You can also look up their hotel to see if they are actually honest in their claims too!
Never too new or seasoned to learn, one of the worst things we can do is be stuck in our ways, especially in an industry that is constantly and rapidly changing.
I remember my very first job within a government ministry, I suggested a better to do something and had the same old reply "but we've always done it this way..", I would respond "soooooo?"......
A little bit of house keeping by yourself would avoid the situation
Simply close out availability and remove the rates, in fact anything you can delete just do so, pictures etc. The inactive and unbookable listing will not last very long, it will firstly drop to the bottom of the search list and later be deleted. ( I assume the new owner does not want the listing either )
