Errr, no I can't help I'm afraid. It's down to the new system, many types of search no longer work. You can't even go to a thread from your own list of comments.
Waiting for the tech. boys & girls to get their finger out and fix it. I know it's low priority in the scheme of things but it doesn't really work very at all and we should be able to use the older version until the bugs have been exterminated.
As is, all the questions piling up here are now going to increase directly to BDC, exactly the opposite of what the forum was meant to achieve.
I asked that question and received this....
"Removing Bidding Restrictions. This means that Partners are free to bid on Booking.com via online search engines if they should wish to, which is in line with the recent EU-ruling on this topic. The removal will apply to all accommodations.
For your information, I have attached the article about bidding restriction for EU properties as below:
4.3.3 The Accommodation agrees not to use, display, benefit from, include, utilize, refer to or specifically target the Booking.com brand/logo (including trade name, trademark, service mark or other similar indicia of identity or source) for price comparison purposes or any other purposes (whether on the Accommodation platform or any third party platform, system or engine or otherwise), unless approved in writing by Booking.com. The Accommodation shall not (directly or indirectly) use or create any (pay-per-click) advertisement on (meta)search sites which advertisement (re)directs and links to the relevant Accommodation landing page on the Platforms where the Accommodation is advertised, promoted and/or included (no double serving). The Accommodation shall be entitled to bid on or use the Booking.com brand for its own webmarketing (PPC) advertising.
No action is required from you. By continuing to use our platform (e.g. by uploading rates/availability and accepting reservations), you accept and agree to these new terms and conditions, which will supersede and replace the current terms."
Did you not reply to the message? (this would clear it)
Do you have a "No reply needed" button next to the reply button (this will also clear it)
Last hope, send a reply, anything, like "System test".
Right back at you!
Anyone Dept. ;-)
Which country are you in? Are you in high season now (BDC much busier with enquiries).
Are you calling a local office i.e. is there a national office you can call instead?
If your problem is not guest specific it may be worth asking here. many experienced hosts lurking in the dark waters...
Try to relocate the guests yourself. BDC can do it for you but the costs could be scary!
For those you cannot relocate ask them to cancel, this often works and gets you out of trouble. ;-)
Language barrier! Sorry, not really sure what you are referring to.
Do you mean the main, general description of the property? If yes, you must present your preferred wording to BDC staff via the extranet messaging support.
This will then become a little tennis match between you and BDC until you finally agree on wording you find acceptable (BDC uses an automated description engine based on keywords they prioritise for the search engines).
Please, please please use the search feature at the top right of the screen, this question has been covered so many times.
Especially as you are new it is very worthwhile using search first so that you can get immediate answers to your concerns, instead of waiting many hours or even days for a fellow host to see and respond to your questions.
All the best.
