Concerning fraudulent bookings I got one experience to share (starts with Portugal ;)):
I got on another platform a request from a Portuguese guy that wanted to stay two weeks and said he could not pay with the credit card as he just got a huge credit from a bank and that he is not allowed to transfer money abroad.
He found our normal website and wrote me there then again that he can only pay per check. Ok, there was much time, so ok. He then wrote me that his bank account manager made a mistake and that instead of say 1000 Euro the check was for 8000 Euro, but I could cash the check and pay the difference to him once he arrives...The check should be from a French bank as he himself is living in Sweden and there's no Euro..
The check never came, the accomodation was blocked for 2 weeks, he made pressure that I should cash in the check and that he urgently needed the money. My guess is that the plan was to delay the check until shortly before his arrival, cash in the 7000 Euro and until the check was fully verified in the European banking system, he would have vanished...
thanks for your quick replay. Maybe I expressed it wrongly.
Say I got a reservation from booking ending on the say on November 17th, then I want the next reservation to arrive earliest at November 18th. So far, booking.com let people do reservations starting on the 17th already, leaving only the few hours between check-out and check-in to clean up the apartment.
