I have just received an email from booking saying I can set my apartment open. I have not had a video call to verify location or anything so this was not expected at all.
I have checked the finance section of my pulse app and it still says my payouts are blocked. I will not be opening my apartment until I have received the money I am due from booking.com
I don’t think it is a coincidence that this has happened today and I contacted them asking for an address to send a letter from my solicitor at the beginning of the week
Hi Sabina, the person I spoke with said that if you met all the criteria I mentioned above they deem this enough to verify your property without video call or letter etc.
No I have not been reopened. I do not have any reviews on Airbnb so cannot use that to help my case.
Hi Sabina, I was told by someone at booking.com that if you have your property listed on other platforms, have positive reviews and the calendars synced with booking this would help the computer algorithm. Basically it would put your case nearer the top of the list as it it deemed it easier to verify. I’m not sure if this is true but that what I was told. I wondered if the people that had been verified recently fell into this category
Hi Paula, I have not heard that if you call again the process restarts. The last person I spoke to said every 7 days your issue can be re-escalated to higher management. I have been doing this, although I am no further forward.
Armelle / Sabina, do you list your property on other sites like Airbnb, Expedia etc and have your calendar linked with booking? The last person I spoke with said people in this position may be able to be verified without video call or letter.
Yes I agree. They have zero integrity. The way they are treating us is shameful
It is the same when you phone. You cannot speak to anyone at all who is dealing with your case or can actually help. You cannot speak to a manager or anyone in finance or anyone who deals with location verification. Apparently the people you speak to on the phone can’t contact these departments either which I find hard to believe.
Yes I understand. That’s why I said it may help some people here, not all.
For what it’s worth it doesn’t help my situation either. But there may be people here could benefit from this information
A little information that may help some people in this thread.
I spoke with someone at booking.com today who was quite helpful. He suggested anyone who lists their property on other platforms like Airbnb, Expedia etc to make sure the calendars are synced with booking.com. This will apparently affect the booking.com computer algorithm and could speed up your location verification process. The positive reviews on your property on other sites will also help your case with booking.com.
At this stage anything is worth a shot !
