According to google booking took $17 Billion last year. That’s an average of $1.4 Billion a month, at a conservative 4%. That’s $56 Million interest for a month. Nice business. Perhaps we will see this maintenance every 12 months.
We only have 4 rooms and we are owed 6000 euros, imagine how big Booking.com is and they have withheld 100% of income for 1 month, the interest on this will be huge especially at the current high interest rates in the UK. “Maintenance” is a good cover to make a massive profit on our money. we should be paid interest, imagine if we the customer withheld payment to booking.com for an extra month, would they charge interest and fines etc. You bet they would :-(
We emailed the CEO, found his email online, the next day we had a zoom meeting and were reopened in 5 minutes. Totally agree that this should be done at first registration. We too had 9.9 guest review score and had been open on booking.com for some 7 months before verification request. Lost business at a peak time. I feel your pain Reza.
Mogie, I too had a meeting with a lawyer, I emailed and called to inform Bdc. I also emailed the CEO, I will not give his email on here but it was easy to find on Google. I got a call the next day to arrange a zoom call which we had at 9am the following day. The zoom call took 2 minutes and within 5 minutes the property was back online. We received bookings within 24hrs. All the above was instigated die to advice on this community and it appears to work for most. Good luck everyone. I am very relieved to be back.open.
WE requested a video call to get this resolved 7 days ago. We were promised a call by the end of last week, nothing happened. We are seeking legal representation today. Try listing on VRBO its cheaper than booking.com as well!! Feeling your pain.
You wait and wait and wait. Some on this community are reporting upto 6 months to get verified. We are currently close to a month. Lost income over the peak season is unacceptable. We are seeking legal representation today. Try listing on VRBO its cheaper than booking.com as well!! Feeling your pain.
Hi Mogie, this has happenned to us as well, currently closed and at our peak season. It is causing us huge financial pressure, this has forced us to register on VRBO to continue with bookings. Their commision is lower than booking.com so we will receive more of the rental income. I am slowly removing the rooms from Booking.com. I am sure someone in the community mentioned they took legal action against the closure, I have a meeting with my Lawyer today to discuss options, I am also trying to find the community member that did this. Feeling your pain.
