Thanks. We stopped using VCC, but still get fake bookings. We do the same delete them from our system when we report them, so at least the room is available for walk-in or on other OTA sites.
Happens to us as well. Booking.com need an option on the reservation screen under Reservation Actions - "Cancelled Fake Booking" for the hotels/motels to use. Tired of waiting 24 hours for credit card details to be updated when it is obviously a fake booking and loosing revenue. If booking.com fixed the security then the rooms could be booked and they'd make more commission.
Good morning Didem, we are receiving fake bookings as well. Have followed the usual procedure and marked the credit card invalid and STILL have to wait 24 hours for booking.com to remove it from the system. The booking is an obvious fake. No such address, the credit card is invalid and there is a fake message in important notes asking us to call or email them privately. WHY can't this booking be cancelled by booking.com immediately? There needs to be a "Cancel Fake Booking" button under "Mark Credit Card as Invalid" for accommodation providers. This booking is obviously a fake yet still we have to wait and loose business, will booking.com pay for the lost business?
Agree with you there Nick. Booking.com need to sort this out asap. Or at least cancel the booking immediately they are informed it is obviously fake, not having to wait 24 hours!
Yes, I've had 5 fake bookings in the last 3 weeks! Credit card declined, no address details obviously fake but still have to wait 24 hours for bookling.com to cancel the booking!
I recognise them as they have no address details, phone numbers that don't work or from another country that the booking person is supposedly from and try and put $10 through our credit card machine and it is declined. SO OBVIOUSLY FAKE however it still takes booking.com 24 hours to go through the invalid credit card process. NOT GOOD FOUR BUSINESS>
