I got a 10/10 on all scores. The final score from the guest was 6. To say I was mightily *** off is an understatement. When I asked them why the six, it was because it was raining. I've contacted BDC several times to register my displeasure about the new scoring system. It seems to me their attitude is "tough". My second place in London is also suffering with the new system. I'm now thinking of taking my business elsewhere as BDC really no longer deserves my business unless they do something about this *** new system and fast.
Problem with that is you're wasting your time, the guest has left and really doesn't give a fig about the damage they've caused. As we all know you the vast majority of guests you will only ever see once. Why would they care?
You're right Fred. The only time BDC will care is when hosts take their business elsewhere. They have a lot of small places like ours and if they leave en-masse BDC has a problem on their hands. They also don't see to be listening and seem hell bent on continuing with this farce of a new rating system.
I do hope the community "manager" is reading all of this and conveys the amount of anger and disappointment this new flawed system is. If they are reading all of this, remember we're the ones paying you and not the guests. Booking.com needs us as much as we need them at the moment. Ignore your customers at your own peril.
I've just had a ten on all categories but an overall of 6, why? because it was raining ***. Took my overall score from 9.7 to 9.6 in one foul fell swoop. Never had below a 7.5 before, and that was from a really obnoxious guest. I know we've all had them. We're now off season so are effectively "closed" but still taking bookings. If by next year this problem isn't sorted out and it's having a negative effect on my hard earned business, I'll take my business elsewhere.
Lucky for you. I got a ten all across the board then an overall score of 6. I queried this with the guest and guess why, because it was raining ***. To say I'm pissed off with it is an understatement. Booking.com aren't helping as they're not listening at all. Just churn out the same old same old. They'd be beware because at this rate they're going to loose "partners" big time. Don't bite the and that feeds you.
As booking.com is also a "partner" then they should also actively get involved. Booking.com seem to have forgotten that a partnership goes two ways. I feel all they're interested in at the moment is how much money they can get out us. Don't upset your customers is what I say as they'll soon find other alternatives.
Booking.com aren't listening unfortunately. They seem to be concentrating on what is best for "guests" and looking looking after their partners, you know us who pay them. I'm seriously looking at pulling both my properties out as the new system is ruining my hard earned reputation. Something which I'm not prepared to allow what is effectively nothing more than a booking agent. There are plenty of other's out there. They really need to either postpone the new rating system and get feedback from us their partners, think they'll be in for a shock as to how much anger they're causing.
