Hi Suejane from Waihi in New Zealand. I have 2 accomodation units on a rural lifestyle property with Alpacas, hens, cat and 4 small inside dogs. I still currently work as Dairy Farm Manager, no longer physical but financial. I have spent most of my life living overseas and I really do enjoy having guests coming to stay as I get to practice my languages.
This is not my main income but I enjoy it. Also host Woofers, great value.
My attitude as a Kiwi is laid back, very trusting and I just go with the flow. Mind you I get totally pissed off when any website tells me to reduce my price in winter, they do not pay my electricity invoice and i can only depend on rainwater. This year has been horrible, no rain.for months. Has cost me $ to keep my business going with water.

Thank you for your reply. Do I need Council consent for the fireplace you recommend.? No chimney in my Stables. Am in Waihi North Island. Last year I took in a WINZ lady, money was grand but never again. She turned into a total nightmare. Accomodation in my area is very scarce so could do a fixed term Tenancy lease. Am a retired Property Manager ! Know all about the disincentives.

I have the same problem in NZ was told to re set my app. Did not work ! I also keep getting a message that I have not responded to a guest. Bookings.com still investigating the problem. Takes a long time!
