I love meeting people.....truly! This is why I love being a B & B host, it gives me the opportunity to meet different people from different cultures and walks of life.Since reaching my sixties, I wanted to keep active by doing what I love most.
Being well traveled has given me insight as to what might be the needs of most of our guests.......which are simple really. Comfort, cleanliness, wifi, value for money and to feel welcome.

We have visitors from all over the world, as well as within New Zealand at our B & B ......singles, couples, families and pets : ) Some are passing through, some are here for events, some have come to explore our beautiful rugged coast line and resident Volcano "Mt, Taranaki" which can be seen from our Kitchen Window, and couple of guest bedrooms and our Garden. We are 10 mins away by car from our local beach which is very unspoilt - black sand and rolling waves with a back drop of cliffs where you can see fossilised sea shells that were on the sea floor thousands of years ago. It has wonderful energy and clean air!!
I just love being a host and meeting such incredibly lovely people.....it makes all the hard work worthwhile!!
Hi Jo, although I have never had to deal with this situation and hopefully will never have to : ) What nightmare, don't give up....take control and edit your listing to target the market you want to reach.Under policies I have stated quiet times from 10.30pm to 8.00am. I mostly attract young families or mature travellers.
Fluff has the right idea, protect yourself with a check in form duly signed stating whats not acceptable and the consequences,
How frustrating for you Adam. With respect, I wonder pibomarco, if the boot was on the other foot (so to speak) would you be thinking, can't please them all - especially when there has been no wrong doing.
As wonderful as Booking.Com are, when they respond to issues based on their algorithms via automated messaging, they need to be in verbal contact for something so serious.
We are in the business of hospitality, of which a large part is communication. Automated messaging sometimes dosen't cut it in respect of such issues.
Sometimes, we need to step back and be suportive of each other in these circumstances.
