When after my arrival here [Rustenburg] in 2012 I got interested in Karl Heyne I found that a 'Karl Heyne Guest House' had existed in Rustenburg. From the past proprietors I found out, that Karl Heyne had built that house and had stayed there until he died in December 1933. *The place was being advertised as a 'Victorian Style Residence'. On inspection I was struck by the over abundance of Victoriana that adorned the building, reasoning that in renovating it things had been overdone. Later, however, I came across an illustration which shows that the building in outer appearance had hardly changed from the original.I should say that the house was built in the second decade of the last century.
* Heloise Heyne, Heynes great-granddaughter, in her report also mentions this dwelling.
