You are effectively self employed, depending on your declared income you will either need to be VAT registered, declaring and claiming all transactions or not registered and declaring/claiming none.
If the latter then inform BDC of that. You'll need to check what the current limit is for not being registered so you can quote that also.
BDC has obviously spotted an area to increase profit that they were not exploiting before.
You'll need to ask BDC to make the change to your payment policy so that the guests pay you directly and in advance. Make sure you have the means to actually take the money before requesting the change.
If yes, then deduct the amount you are owed from your next payment. This will definitely get their attention!
Now you will be talking to finance directly and can state your case.
If you only receive payments then you will need to persevere. If you've been calling the Phuket office try using Bangkok instead, they are generally more helpful.
Find the invoice on extranet, open it's statement, find the booking and select "dispute" box on the right, followed by submit at the bottom of the statement.
Another box will appear asking for details of your dispute, fill appropriately and submit/save. In a few days BDC will check the error and issue a credit note to cancel out the invoice.
I never cease to be totally gob-smacked that a guest whose been reported and blocked can still leave a review.
If they MUST be allowed then their review should also be flagged as reported undesirable by the host and the score given not count towards the property's overall score. Remember a host has a very limited window to report but the guest has 6 months. How can that possibly make sense?
Hi Aaron,
As you have raised the subject on behalf of BDC, could you please justify the tactic? I have never seen the point myself.
We appear on the mobile app anyway, our promos also show on the mobile app. Why should we offer extra discount for something we already have?
Not having a dig, just an honest question as I can only see it benefiting BDC, not us.
Hi Susanne,
I'm assuming you are In the UK ?

Can you actually see that famous bridge from your property, I had to look up the name, Pont Valentré.
How lovely. :-)
This is actually quite normal for the OTAs.

Not a good day here either, just learned we will not be allowed to open in May as hoped. Looking at June now.
Hi Dimar,
Do you also pay invoices TO Booking.com?

Total madness by BDC.
