Hello, I am a proud owner and operator of a B&B in the Southeastern part of the United States. I have experienced just about every wonderful guest and more nightmares than most of you will ever have. I cannot say that one platform is better than another when it comes to bad guests, but I appreciate that with booking I can control my own processing. I wish booking would let us write our own descriptions.
My property rating is 9.4 for the past 90 days and 8.6 forever, not sure why I cannot seem to get to 8.7. So screw the devil. I believe in Jesus. Hah, but this person is from France where nothing can get done easy. I know. My sister lives there.

I would not call it good necessarily, but they did made an OKAY system worse.
This is stupid. It makes no sense. How are people to know that one happy face is equal to 2.5 out of 10? When you have a 1-10 and then 4 happy faces. Do you imagine people think about this? How about ditch the happy faces and put 2.5 in it's place if you want to keep the 4 places.
Why is it that my property is not ranked upon its own merits? Why is my score manipulated DOWN because of who you consider my peer group? I am a B&B so comparing me to the Bed Bug in aka the Grand Hotel, Motel 6 and Econo lodge is not fair. My 90 day score is 9.4 but my overall score of 8.6 does not change no matter how many 10's I get in a row. What the fluff?
My peer group is other B&B's and maybe homestays but not motels.
Yes, I know and it is NOT for the best. It is hard enough to inch out of my 8.6 review score. For the past 90 days my score is 9.4 but has my 8.6 moved up to an 8.7? Noooooo the only area that seems to change is location. Why is that? Now with your new airbnb look alike model that I hate on airbnb where guest can give 5 stars across the board, and then air asks if they did any thing exceptional or unexpected and then offer the overall score 1-5.
Exceptional? How about you slept well and got what you paid for? So now Booking is doing the same stupid move. It serves no one but the crappy hotels. This is like some socialist ***. I work really hard to get a 10 and you are now working hard to drop my 10.

Yes, booking is doing a nice job at copying all of airbnbs' worst mistakes. This is why I am focusing more time on getting guests direct. It is a drag when they make it hard. It is hard enough to inch up in the number like I am at 8.6 and I have a total review score of 9.4 for the last 90 days, but has my 8.6 moved up NOOOOOOOOOOO it has not.
Why does booking think airbnb is a good role model. I left there.
So now I have to write to booking and ask they to change it when they initally made it just a click to turn on. Why can we not just go into the opportunity center and turn it on and off?
Why do these third party bookers make it so hard for us to turn on a dime? This is what gives small business out edge.
It used to be right there in the menu and then they took it away. I am not liking the mobile discount. I don't think it does anything but cost me money and I hate that genius stacks with it. Business has been tough this year. I don't know what it is, I guess the economy is getting soft. I usually drop my rates on same day, but with that mobile discount it takes me to low. It makes me the cheapest room in town. I wonder, do I have to be the cheapest room in town to get business or is it hurting me. Booking is of no assistance. I have asked them to give me the stats on what exactly people click and how they find me. They said,they have the info, but cannot share. What the heck is up with that? How can I target my exact market if they won't tell me who they are? I asked if putting the space up as a whole house would get more views? Sorry they say, cannot tell you. Do you know? I ask, oh yes,we know how many people click and look for houses, but I have to scrap everything and start over, uncertain if it would be the best move. Sigh these third party agencies are not so friendly to small business.
Did you not collect your coins? I process the payment immediately and allow for no grace period. Do What is your cancellation policy? Did you call Booking? I would call them. you process your own payments or let booking do it for you? I process my own payments you can find a group on faceook shannons airbnb raves and rants. Actually I would just keep the money and enjoy the day off cuz i get my coins
