I agree with all of the above, anonymous reviews are not open and above board, and a mis use of data.

You can't make this a matter of trust after all money IS involver not to mention reputations.

I am surprised that booking.com can't see this, but the whole review department is not run well and there are several issues over the years they simply fail to answer.

The review department at booking.com seems to be the only department not up to scratch. This is ironic really. I give them 1 out of 5.

Anonymous reviews are possibly the worsted kind of miss use of data..... the type of which large businesses are recieving super large fines. Booking.com as the publishers are unable to verify that the facts of each review are true. Booking.com post reviews regardlessly. The guest may have stayed at the establishment and written false comments, but the misuse of this data is down to Booking.com. And that is the Law. It will only be a matter of time before they realise, but it will probably take a 'sharp slap on the wrist' in the shape of a punitive fine, to make Booking.com wake up to reality.

my comments on Booking.com's performance on this issue have been removed.... and yes they were negative about Booking.com, this smacks of hypocrisy, when I am not being anonymous ..... and I get removed..... what ever happened to free speech? Negative comments regarding Booking.com are removed no matter how honest or relevent while the rest of us can go to hell..... now that's what I call fair.... not.

I agree with the above comments entirely and well said, I couldn't have put it better.... Booking.com are lazy and slack in this regard, however I expect it's just the UK franchise that are like this..... the level of service you get from the USA booking.com if you contact them late at night is in another league to the UK..... respect is something that has to be earned.... the UK is not doing it for me.

I agree entirely with the above post... but poor service from big business seems to be a way of life at present. They talk a good game, but talk is cheap. Like I say.... there is no bigger picture just right and wrong..... booking.com are badly wrong on this...... time will tell.... this is a total mis-use of data. Bookin.com are failing there real customers...... often the begining of the decline for most businesses, however, the ceo, can probably retire before me, and like the rest of the staff doesn't care.

I agree Kenata. This is surly the woste sort miss use of data. Booking.com seem to be in the if it's good enough for Donald Trump, it's good enough for me school on this one. Also ignoring the fact that Facebook have just been find $50000000 for mis use of data. Odd that a reputable company would wish to put themselves in this kind of company?

The reason the management at Booking.com are not listening is because they think they are following a teenage graduate that is is telling them that there is a bigger picture....or maybe the CEO thinks there is...... but...... as a businessman of over 25 years standing working for myself, I have seen em come and go....... and......... not listening to your real customers is usually the begining of the end...... just an observation.

I like dealing with a company that gets work in for me, then charge for their service. I understand where you are comming from with the word parasites, however, it is a free market, and there is a finite time, when they may not be worth dealing with. I do feel however, that anonymous reviews are a step too far, and I don't understand the attraction for Booking.com. It feels like data abuse and no one should ever make a criticism of anyone or anything that they are not prepared to back up with their name. That is simply knowing right from wrong. Booking.com have for a long time been badly wrong on this issue and with Facebook recently being find $500000000, you would think they would be treading more carefully. I for one did not sign up for allowing complete strangers to leave lies about me. This is what occationally happens with anonymous reviews. This must be the very worse form of data abuse, and Booking.com are culpable
