I don't use billing by BDC. I'm not sure I have that option on my 5 condos in FL, USA. BDC provides the credit card information for the renter's request to reserve. I then try to process the credit card (through a 3rd party company) for a down payment and lock-in the reservation. I have the credit card information and complete control of the booking, billing and collection. I like that. Final payment is due and anytime after booking, but I personally offer a 60 day - full refund. This works really good for me.
With numerous properties, I expect the company to sync automatically. BDC was not "talking" with the other sites for a long time. They are the only ones I have issues with.

TOO MANY cancellations. I have 2 properties on BDC. The first, lets me "see" the CC # of the guest so I can verify/collect down payment. 80% of these do not have sufficient funds. The second property won't let me view the CC info until 2 weeks prior to check-in. That's not acceptable on a USA condo. So I raised the rates to $ 3,000/night so no one will try and book. Like you, I called BDC CS and complained. They said they have not control over the automatic algorithm and can't do anything about it. WT HEck. Too much trouble. Too bad, too sad. You need to get some sort of CC processing company. Mine is EDGE and it works very well.
I tried and no luck. It's almost impossible, even after calling CS. What I did was priced my condo at $ 3,000/night, that way no one will try and book it. WAY too many cancellations....not worth it. They are really missing out on an opportunity with the USA condo market. Lots of great TV commercials, but not a good partner for the owners.
I agree with your comment on the 3rd property -"My 3rd property is a disaster when it comes to reservations. I get so many cancellations after I try to charge a prepayment, it's not even funny" I have 90% failure when I try and process the Credit Card on booking for the down payment. My only property listed with B.com (I have 5 condos) experiences NUMEROUS cancellation due to insufficient funds. Too Bad...I wounder what's going on. I've expressed this to B.com numerous times....no luck. They must be going thorough rough times, but are missing out on a LARGE AND RICH condo market in the USA. The market needs more competition to AirB and Home Away. Too bad...too sad! They spend LOTS of $$$'s on advertising so they should get their acts together to reap the fruits of their efforts. Perhaps their Hotel customers are more pleased with the way they are running their company.
Hi Rich, It seems from what I'm seeing over time, a lot of folks have different arrangements and rules that they work under/with BDC. In fact, the two of my properties are governing by different rules with them. The first property allows me to "see" the credit card info of the renter when they book with me. I can then try and collect the initial $ 300 down payment though the CC processing company I'm using (EDGE...used to be PayPros). And then collect the balance 60 days prior to check-in. I have control and I like it that way. BTW that's the only listing company that allows me to view the renter's CC info
The second property won't let me "see" the renter's CC info until 2 weeks prior to check-in. I can't accept that. When I ask BDC why the rules are different the say "for security reasons" I can't see the CC for the 2nd property. They say it's automatic and will correct itself over time....but they don't know when.
I collect the money from the renters and pay BDC 15% of rental $'s at the end of each month. They pay me nothing.
Seems like there are lots of ways BDC works with the owners/managers. Perhaps based on where the property is located. HA and AirBnb seem to be much more consistent and have a WAY LESS cancellation situation due to lack of funds from the renter when they request to book.
Are you kidding K1-2. This ain't no Motel 6 which you are normally stay in. These are condos over $ 1 million each. You should rent one of them....but you probably don't have the money. All I'm saying is, if BDC wants to expand to other markets, they need to consider what the market demands. All the condo owners usually require longer periods of paying up-front. I book June - Aug months in advance.
