its simple. Because BDC wont listen, i have increased my pricing on BDC relative to other channels, so now they have reduced from 85% of my bookings to just over 40%.
i had a guest give me 1/10 because i would not let his friends join him in the pub. I DONT HAVE A PUB. the only reply from BDC was 'this review does not violate our community standards".
So now they pay the price of thei immovable stupid review team. Every time BDC upsets me i increase my pricing on BDC and they lose more.
in my experience with BDC nothing lights a fire under them. they just do not care about the people they so lightly call 'partners' . it was different pre 2020 when we still had account managers. now nobody cares.
Hi BrookAve looking at the CC number, these are not Virtual CC's. its clearly a private CC and as the guest is past my free cancellation period, i should have full visibility of the CC.
Secondly i did contact the support centre and quite frankly they dont know their arm from their elbow. He kept putting me on hold to speak with a manager and eventually i after almost an hour on the phone i gave up. He just kept repeating whats clearly written on his screen as a standard answer and i was quite frankly getting nowhere.
Since BDC has done away with account managers, they have become impossible to deal with and the level of training of their call centre staff is atrocious.
and do not bother complaining to BDC about an unfair and untrue rating. they will do nothing.
I have been working to move away from BDC for this reason. getting there; in 2018 they were 80%+ of my bookings, now they are 39% and dropping.
As i say my motivation is because you have NO recourse to unfair reviews. Today i had my first 1. WHY? because the guest was p'd off that he had paid for a double room and wanted half off because he was alone. He agreed to this price, but now its my problem that he is travelling alone, so i get shot down.
The next issue is that the review score is a simple average, so a 1 really screws you while a 10 ( when your average is 8.9 ), does not help much. The score should be a proper statistical average, not a simple numerical one.
