Been in the Hospitality catering business for 38 years, worked for Whitbread as a Manager for Beefeater Restaurants, worked in Premier Inn Hotels and have also owned a 20 Bedroomed Hotel in Lytham St Annes. I just have 2 guest houses in Southport Merseyside PR9 0DP. I love Southport it is such a best kept hidden secret,such a joyous seaside town.

i totally understand your frustration and when lots of us never got paid for April is was totally frustrating.

There is no one in FINANCE, no one answers the telephone it is very scary!

i'm thinking Booking.Com are having cash flow issues or may be sinking!

A whole load of us never got paid, the last ones just got paid a couple of days ago.

We have asked for our April commission to be refunded to us as a goodwill gesture.

Payment was due the 8th and most never got money till the 24th May.

No one answered the finance phones no one answered our pleas for communication.

We all feel your pain look at the recent feedback under the heading. i have not been paid for last month!

Martina,

I have personally phoned the guest up, explaining that I was deeply saddened by her review.

She responded and said she was sorry and that she'd had a really bad day and took it out on me.

She said it was unfair and unjust and if she was totally honest, she enjoyed her stay.

So my advice would be it may be anonymous, but us smaller places can easily work out, who wrote the review.

My only tip is to kill them with kindness and concern, rather than to go on the attack.

This lady is now a great friend of mine and we have holidayed together and she stays regularly.

Too be totally honest,

Some guests you look at and you think OMG! I don't want them here but they leave the place immaculate and they have thoroughly enjoyed their stay.

Some guests turn up glamorous and you think, how lovely are they and they leave the place like you are their servant!

Some guests turn up in business suits and you think, how professional do they look, they end up wetting the bed!!

A taxi driver who stayed with me long term judged me unfairly and said "Barbara you'll take anyone here, it's all about the money with you" I said Tony (his name) when people get into your taxi at 7pm they are lovely, polite people and when they get back in at midnight after a few drinks are they the same!!! He shut his mouth and walked off.

I have learnt not to judge people, I find guests who have booked with Booking.Com are a better class of guest, then those who knock on my door...
